Italy has won the 5 nations-tournament which was held on July 31st- August 4th in Italy. Germany’s opponent and secret favourite of the WCH won all of its games against Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland and the Netherlands.

The field of entries for the 2002 Women’s World Volleyball Championship in Ger-many (August 30 – September 15) is complete. The last of the 24 teams to qualify for the event was Mexico that defeated Venezuela in a play-off 3-0.
