Bremen is the smallest state of the Germany with 540.000 inhabitants in Bremen and 125.000 in Bremerhaven, located along the river Weser. The two city state forms a geographical triangle together with the northern cities of Hamburg and Hanover which are both only 120 km away.
Bremen International Airport is located only 15 minutes away from the city centre and connects Bremen with 14 European gateways and national locations. The central railway station, opposite the Trade Fair Centre is also within walking distance to the city centre.

Bremen offers a trip through the past. The eventful history of this more than 1200-year-old Hanseatic city reveals itself in and around its private and public buildings, its squares, and in its streets and quarters. But Bremen is also a modern and cosmopolitan city, a city of short distances with a lot of green in between.

Bremen is a sports city with numerous clubs for all kinds of sport: first class Bundesliga football and special events like the Bremen-6-Day-Race, the "euroclassics” indoor horse show jumping contest or the "Bremen Cup” – the nations´ tournament in women’s volleyball.
Bremen’s cultural life has a nation-wide reputation: the theatre scene, a musical theatre, concert halls and different galleries and museums offer various possibilities to plan one’s free time.

Bremen’s historical core is the Marktplatz, a meeting point for tourists. But the city offers more: galleries, museums, concert halls, theatres and a musical theatre, parks and gardens, romantic places, a lively "scene” as well as newly created shopping arcades for everyday needs and exclusive articles. But also new attractions like the Universum Science Centre with more than 200 mostly interactive exhibits which offers a new approach to earth, mankind and space or the new Schlachte Embankment with a great variety of restaurants or the "longest beer garden in town”: all of these are worth a visit.
