location & history
Having its origins as a horse farm, the city has in the meantime developed into the third largest densely populated area in Germany since the beginning of the industrial revolution.
The economic breakthrough occurred when Gottlieb Daimler invented the first four-wheeled, motorised carriage in 1886, thus laying the corner stone for an international company.
The Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, with its 10.000 seats, is the first choice for high-calibre events in Europe. The possibilities offered by it for all larger sport, music and cultural events are almost unlimited and it is just as valued by world stars from show business as by top athletes the world over.

sport & culture
Outstanding top sport events including the International Equestrian and Jumping Tournament, the Tennis Masters Series, Porsche Grand Prix or the Mercedes Cup fill the spectators with enthusiasm, while Olympic training bases and special sport boarding schools aid and take care of the talented upcoming generation.
The Stuttgart Ballet and State Opera – the Opera House of the Year – musicals and cabaret theatres, classical music, jazz or pop, over 30 galleries and museums, the Stuttgart cultural facilities leave nothing to wish for and offer something for everyone.
